Off the Record – What is Social Security Disability?
Video Transcript
Hi everyone, I’m Craig Rosasco, Managing Partner at Turley, Redmond & Rosasco. For more than three and a half decades, our firm has been representing injured workers and individuals with disabilities.
Today, I’d like to talk about Social Security Disability and how it may be able to help you.
Let’s say you’re in your mid-to-late 50s and you’re dealing with a medical condition or a work-related injury that prevents you from continuing to work. You know you can begin collecting early Social Security retirement benefits at age 62, but what if you can’t make it that far?
That’s where Social Security Disability may come in.
If you’re disabled before age 62, we can help you file for Social Security Disability benefits. If your claim is approved, you may begin receiving the retirement benefits you would otherwise receive at your full retirement age—typically age 67—earlier because of your disability.
As of 2026, the maximum monthly Social Security Disability benefit is approximately $4,130, depending on your earnings history and eligibility. Those benefits can provide valuable financial support for you and your family if you’re unable to work.
Our firm has been helping clients obtain Social Security Disability benefits for more than 30 years. It’s our job to prepare your claim, present the strongest case possible, and help you obtain approval from the federal government.
If you’re unable to work because of a disability and want to learn about your options, give us a call.
