Off The Record – 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund

Video Transcript

Hi, everyone. My name is Craig Rosasco, Managing Partner at the law firm of Turley Redmond & Rosasco, and let’s talk about 9/11 claims today. Were you downtown between September of 2001 and May of 2002? If so, you can file a claim through the Victims’ Compensation Fund.

That was renewed in the summer of 2019. Never forget your heroes: Zadroga, Pfeifer, Alvarez, 9/11 Act. So, the funds are there in place until 2090. There is a claim registration filing deadline. Actually, it’s the filing deadline. That is by October 1st of 2090.

I’m assuming you’ve got time to file that claim between now and then. However, there is a registration deadline. That was July 29th of 2021. And if you missed that deadline or you were downtown, it’s not a huge issue. You need to call us immediately because every case is different. It depends on the type of injury and the individual circumstances surrounding your claim.

Also, if you’ve been certified by the World Trade Center Healthcare Program, you’re probably already registered, we can investigate that, and if you suffered a new ailment, we could amend your claim to include different ailments and go back to the Victims’ Compensation for additional compensation.

If you’ve been involved in this type of scenario and/or need assistance and guidance going through the system, feel free to give me a call. Craig Rosasco, 516-745-5666. I’ve been doing this since 2001. I’ll be glad to help you next. Talk soon.
