Off The Record – Workers’ Comp – Work Related Accidents

Video Transcript

Hi, everybody. Craig Rosasco, Turley Redmond & Rosasco, Workers’ Compensation Social Security counsel to the profession. We coordinate all your benefits. So give me a call. At the end of this video, we’re going to give you the number. But what we’re going to talk about today is what to do if you’ve been involved in a work-related accident.

So the first thing always is to get treatment. Okay? If it’s a severe accident, that’s going to be your main focus to start. But you are going to have to give your employer notice. If it’s a significant accident, they’re going to be well aware of it. If it’s a lifting accident, you’re going to have to notify them. So protect yourself. Last is, you’ve got to get the medical treatment. So you’ve had an accident, you’ve given notice, now you get medical treatment.

You may not have a claim number yet. So what do I recommend you do? Let’s go to an urgent care. Go to CityMD. Go see Joe in Massapequa. Okay? This is a place they’re going to treat you without the benefit of that worker’s compensation insurance claim number. And at some point, what they’re going to do, they’re going to send you a letter in the mail saying, “Have you gotten your claim number? We treated you, provide us with the claim number so we could submit the billing.” These new facilities are all over the place. They’re very convenient, and we strongly recommend them. We’ve read the reports. They know what they’re doing, and we highly recommend them.

If you’ve just been injured in an accident, I implore you, call me. I’ll guide you through it. I’ll walk you through it and make sure you get the best treatment in the right places very quickly. 516-745-5666. Give me a call. You won’t be disappointed.
