Off The Record – Workers’ Comp – Safe Working Conditions

Video Transcript

Hi, this is Bill Turley from Turley Redmond & Rosasco. Well, it’s November and when I left my apartment this morning, it was pretty cold. It was 35 degrees and it’s just gonna get colder. And with the cold weather, we have snow and ice and slippery conditions. And those conditions can lead to any variety of accidents in the workplace. So around this time of year, we start getting a lot of calls about people who slip and fall in the parking lot of their employer’s premises or maybe entering the work building, slipping on wet concrete or icy pavement. And those all can be considered work-related injuries because you’re supposed to be guaranteed a safe entry and exit from the workplace.

So in addition to that, you know, these slippery and icy conditions can lead to more motor vehicle accidents. And anybody who drives as part of their job, as part of their work activity, these motor vehicle accidents which occur while you’re working can also be considered in the course of your employment and lead to a worker’s compensation claim. If you have questions about injuries on the job, social security disability, or veterans benefits, please give us a call at 631-582-3700 or you can visit us on the web at www.nydisabilitylaw.com. This is Bill Turley. Have a great day.
