Off The Record – Veterans’ Disability – Camp Lejeune Update

Video Transcript

Hi, my name is Janet Santeramo, and I’m an attorney at Turley Redmond & Rosasco. And I’m sure, just like myself, you’ve all been seeing these commercials on TV about the Camp Lejeune cases and early settlements and all of that. I will tell you there are pros and cons to each approach. One, you can get your money earlier, but there also may be some cons involved with that. You may not get that $500,000 maximum settlement. There may be other restrictions. You may have to be on Camp Lejeune for five years before you can get that maximum settlement. You know, or the other way, you may have to wait to get your settlement.

I’m a firm believer everybody knows their own interests best. I would suggest if you’re represented by council with regard to the Camp Lejeune water cases, I suggest you give them a call and discuss with them what your goals are. And then determine whether you’re gonna be better off taking the early settlement or whether you’re gonna be better off waiting. Just tread cautiously because usually if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. If you have any questions about the Camp Lejeune water cases, please feel free to give us a call over here at Turley Redmond & Rosasco. We can be reached at nydisabilitylaw.com. Thank you and have a great day.
