Off The Record – Workers’ Comp – Work Related Accidents

Video Transcript

Hi everybody, Craig Rosasco, Turley, Redmond & Rosasco, Workers’ Compensation and Social Security counsel to the profession. We coordinate all your benefits, so give me a call at the end of this video. We’re going to give you the number.

What we’re going to talk about today is what to do if you’ve been involved in a work-related accident.

The first thing is always to get treatment. If it’s a severe accident, that’s going to be your main focus to start.

You are going to have to give your employer notice. If it’s a significant accident, they’re going to be well aware of it. If it’s a lifting accident or another injury that isn’t immediately obvious, you’re going to have to notify them.

To protect yourself, you’ve got to get the medical treatment.

So you’ve had an accident, you’ve given notice, and now you need medical treatment. You may not have a claim number yet.

What do I recommend you do?

Go to an urgent care center. Go to CityMD. Go see Joe DiMaggio (MIPA), okay? These are places that are going to treat you without the benefit of having that Workers’ Compensation claim number.

At some point, they’re going to send you a letter in the mail asking if you’ve gotten your claim number. Once you have it, provide it to them so they can submit the billing.

These new facilities are all over the place. They’re very convenient, and we strongly recommend them. We’ve read the reports, they know what they’re doing, and we highly recommend them if you’ve just been injured in a work-related accident.

I implore you, call me. I’ll guide you through the process, walk you through every step, and make sure you get the best treatment in the right places as quickly as possible.

Give me a call—you won’t be disappointed in.
