Long Island Social Security Disability Lawyer Steps Down from NOSSCR Board of Directors

Social Security Disability Lawyers

After six years of representing my Second Circuit colleagues on the National Organization of Social Security Claimant Representatives (NOSSCR) Board of Directors, I am stepping down to take on new challenges – including teaching a Social Security Disability Law  course at a local law school.  I will remain on the NOSSCR Advocacy Committee.

Thankfully, my good friend and fellow Long Island Social Security Disability Lawyer Sharmine Persaud is taking my place on the Board of Directors and will assume her new responsibilities at our NOSSCR conference in Seattle next week.

We need leadership like hers at this critical time when the Social Security Disability Claim program is under attack by certain right wing members of Congress  like Senator Tom Coburn (R-Oklahoma).  Sen. Tom Coburn is no friend of disabled New Yorkers and was one of the few politicians who tried to block benefits for 9/11 cancer survivors under the Zadroga Act.

I wish Sharmine the best of luck and look forward to working with her in the future.
